A parting gift Depeche Mode declined

Vince Clarke, an original member of Depeche Mode, left the band and offered this song (and “Only You”) to them as parting gifts — they declined both. Clarke then answered Alison Moyet’s Melody Maker classified ad, forming Yazoo specifically to record the two songs, initially as a one-off. He’s quipped of the writing: “I wrote it and she corrected it.” No lyrics reproduced.
