Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information ClearTheSample collects, why, and how it’s handled, in plain language as required under Quebec’s Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25).

Who is responsible for your information

Mathieu Carrier is the person responsible for the protection of personal information for ClearTheSample. Questions or requests about your data can be sent to contact@silkvelvetrecords.com, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

What we collect

• Account information: email address and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form — we never see or store your plain-text password).
• Payment information: handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We do receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the amount, so we can credit your account with tokens.
• Usage data: which flips you create and save, token balance and history, and basic product-usage events (e.g., which features are used) to help us improve the tool.
• Technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type) for security and debugging.

Why we collect it

• To provide your account, save your flips, and track your token balance.
• To process payments via Stripe.
• To communicate with you about your account (e.g., email confirmation, purchase receipts).
• To maintain and improve the service.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, to process payments.
• Supabase, our database/hosting infrastructure provider, which stores account and application data on our behalf.
• We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

Where your data is stored

Our infrastructure providers may store data outside Quebec/Canada. By using the service, you consent to this transfer, and we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection wherever it’s processed.

Your rights

Under Quebec law, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent to its use (which may limit your ability to use certain features). To exercise these rights, contact contact@silkvelvetrecords.com.

Data retention

We retain account and flip data as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we’re required to retain it (e.g., financial records for tax purposes).

Cookies

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you logged in and remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes materially.
