Roy C’s wider biography
Roy C previously had his 1965 hit “Shotgun Wedding” and began his career singing tenor with the vocal group The Genies in the late 1950s. He reportedly considered boxing before a sparring session with heavyweight contender Tommy “Hurricane” Jackson redirected him toward music.
