The breakthrough that led to Good Life

Kevin Saunderson, still in college and recording from his basement studio, produced this instrumental and felt it needed vocals — Chicago vocalist Paris Grey (born Shanna Jackson) was recommended by house producer Terry Baldwin and flew to Detroit to record it. Its surprise crossover success led directly to “Good Life” later that same year. No lyrics reproduced.
